Road - Hot Corsa

Vauxhall has released details of its new Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition which goes on sale this month. It still has the 1.6 litre turbo VXR engine under the bonnet, but it has been seriously tickled to produce 205 PS (202 bhp) at 5,750 rpm and up to 280 Nm of torque.

To complete the power package, there is a new ECU and turbocharger, sports exhaust with reduced back pressure, and a mechanical, multi-plate limited-slip differential.

To cope with the extra oomph, Vauxhall commissioned Bilstein to develop spring and damper units which have reduced the ride height by 20 mm at the front and 15 mm at the rear.

It’s also got a tasty little set of Brembos which should help to keep the baseball hats out of the hedges!

According to Vauxhall it will do 0-60 mph in just 6.5 seconds and top out at 143 mph.

The inside has been titivated too, but there is just one tiny little drawback. It’ll cost £22,295.
