Road - Hazardous Juke

It’s not April First, so it must be true. Nissan is currently building the ultimate Juke. Maybe even the ultimate Q-car!

The Juke-R is expected to be the first ever ‘super crossover’ when it rolls out of the Northamptonshire workshops of RML Group (Ray Mallock Racing’s outfit).

Designed by the Nissan Technology Centre Europe, but being built by RML, the flared wheel arches, revised front and rear bumpers and split rear wing disguise, or emphasise, the fact that under the bonnet is the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine lifted from the Nissan GT-R.

Under the boot floor is the GT-R's six-speed transaxle, with the front and rear ends joined by a modified GT-R, 4WD driveline and prop shaft, and the whole things sits on 20-inch RAYS forged alloys.

Inside, the interior gets the treatment too with twin race-seats, five-point harnesses and a roll cage!

And when built, it will be fully road legal. Apparently, Nissan wants to ‘test the market’ for higher performance SUVs. Now is that just mad, or bad?
