Road - Peugeot, Power and Prestige

Peugeot’s RCZ has finally got the power that its striking presence merits. The latest ‘R’ version of the RCZ will be the most powerful road-going car Peugeot has ever sold. The previous top of the range 200 bhp, 2 litre engine has been replaced by a 270 bhp, 1.7 litre turbo petrol unit.

Maximum power is generated at 6,000 rpm with maximum torque of 330 Nm, while Peugeot is claiming 44.8 mpg on the Combined Drive Cycle. It also meets the new Euro-6 emissions regulations emitting just 145 g/km CO2 emissions.

The car also rides 10 mm lower, has a new six-speed manual transmission and Torsen® differential, uprated clutch, larger intercooler and new twin-scroll turbocharger. The exhaust has also been modified and features an enhanced ‘sound system’ to amplify the RCZ R’s engine note.

Performance figures state a 0-62 mph sprint in 5.9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Priced at £31,995, the Peugeot RCZ R is available to order now with deliveries commencing in the UK from 2nd January 2014.
