It looks like Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton have caught a
dose of David Bogie’s past luck on this event. Whereas David had a good start,
Euan had a day filled with troubles and finished in 35th place in
his Ford Fiesta.
“We burst a brake pipe in the second stage this morning,”
said Euan, “but then the turbo pop-off valve failed. The stages are good, so it’s
frustrating. It’s also our first time on DMACKs. They’re good and we’re hoping
to get back towards the front tomorrow.”
There was more bad news for Euan this morning. The team incurred
a 6 minute penalty when they were late out of service replacing the speed
sensor for the turbo and had to get a new one from M-Sport.
