David Bogie and Kevin Rae finished the first full day
(Friday) of Dayinsure Wales Rally GB in 17th place overall and 5th
in the RC2 class in their Skoda Fabia just 8 seconds behind Eyvind Brynilsdsen and
ahead of Pierre-Louis Loubet which is pretty damn good considering the pace of
these WRC regulars.
At the overnight halt, David said: “that was a nice day’s
work. I stayed out of trouble. The stages are good although the surfaces are
polished, so it’s easy to slide under braking and turning in. The last stage (Hafren
2) was a bit rough so I stayed in the middle of the road.” And after the three
hour road run from the last stage to the Deeside Service Park halt, he stepped
out stretched his legs and pulled his breeks, before adding: “After that last
road section I’ve just about got feeling back into my ass!”
