Digby has been in touch with news of the latest
event which will be used to promote the Ecosse Junior 1000 Rally series. This
will be of interest not just to 14 to 17 year olds, but those who are 12 or 13
and are just as desperate to get started but want to find out more, now!
It might
also be of interest to parents because this rather special day has a wider
appeal.
Organised
by Knockhill Race Circuit on Saturday the 21st of October the 'Teen Test Driver Day' will offer all
youngsters between the ages of 13 and 17 the chance to get behind the wheel of
a road car in a safe environment, and that includes rally cars.
So if you
have youngsters at home who are mad daft on rallying, here is the chance to
find out what's involved before you enter into an alternative life where the offspring
are either in school or in the garage, as opposed to bunking off and hanging
around betting shops.
Knockhill
has a group of blokes and blokess instructors who are awfy nice and patient and
ideal for this kind of day out, so it's worth a thought.
Also in
attendance will be the Ecosse Junior 1000 Challenge 'magnificent marquee' and
staff so you know what to look out for when you get arrive. And who knows there
might even be some tablet left in Rhona's tin after Kames - that would be
reason enough to attend on its own!
There
will also be some experienced youngsters on hand so that you can ask questions
of them and not just the auld folks. That's because there will also be some
advanced driver training for those 14-17 year olds who have justy completed the
2017 championship series and that will highlight the next steps for ambitious
young competition drivers.
