Rally - Boys done Good!

Garry Pearson and Craig Wallace were in Englandshire at the weekend collecting their silverware at the British Rally Championship awards in Manchester. They won their class in the 2012 national series and also the Renault Twingo R1 category.

Garry also won the British Junior Rally Champion title and with it the chance to drive in a fully funded Renault Twingo R2 on this weekend’s Rally du Var in the south of France.

A round of the French Championship, this will be the biggest event of the boys’ rallying lives. Run over three days from Friday 23 to Sunday 25, the route comprises 12 tarmac stages totalling 240 kms (149 miles) of roads.  

So how tough will it be? Faster than the Jim Clark and twistier than Mull!

The boys are under no illusion though. They will be competing in a Renault Twingo R2 for the first time with Garry saying: “A finish would be a great result!”
