It's damp, dreich and drizzly, tending to sodden, splunging and soaked with intermittent showers of damp dryness just to break up the monotony of rain, more rain, and really heavy rain. Welcome to Scotland. As the boat docked at Craignure we were cruelly tempted with a glimpse of sunshine, then as the ramp came down, it started to rain. Welcome to Mull. And yet the mood is one of excited anticipation as the assorted array of anoraked passengers drove and trudged off the boat. Things can only get better, can't they?

Rally - and so it begins
