Rally - Taylor still leads

Peter Taylor still leads the Blasting Magic Turnbull Trophy Rally but with a huge margin of 1m 42 secs after 4 stages (of 8). Howard Chopping has lost second place though, the clutch failed driving into service after the 4th test. No warning, no drive.

That has promoted Alistair Inglis to second place but he's worried. He's used 75 litres of fuel in 40 miles of stages so far. It's not so much the amount of fuel, it's the cost!

Chris Singer is up to third in the Saxo. He has cured an overheating problem on the first two stages by changing the fan, but he's still having to run with the heater full on. And it's roasting down here in the summer sunshine!

Peter Gibson is up to fourth in the Lancer and Jim Sharp has moved up to fifth, with other Scots in the top ten including Richard Sutherland and Lee Hastings.

Chris Anderson lost time in the first stage with a puncture but the Fiesta is back on song nd Bary Renwick is trying to fix his Escort's power steering.

Chris McCallum is on his way home having damaged the n/s front corner and bent a bottom arm on a bale.
