One of my all-time favourite cars was the Renault Avantime. This front wheel drive 3 litre job was ahead of its time ten years ago and the public didn't really take to it, but having spotted the new Renault Vignale concept at the Frankfurt Show, I wonder if it has come back?
The new Vignale is in fact destined to replace the original family orientated MPV, the Renault Espace. It's a lot smarter looking than the old Espace and it is roughly the same size, but weighs quarter of a tonne less. Renault have not released details about power plants but expect something radical.
