Rally - Tie for the lead

Now that's a puncture!
The latter half of the Merrick Rally entries are running about an hour late behind the original time schedule, but after three stages there has been a dramatic change at the top, Bogie has now caught Thorburn and the two share the joint lead going into the final stage.

Thorburn’s gearbox is still giving cause for concern and Armstrong is only 12 seconds adrift.

The attached picture shows the results of David Bogie’s puncture in Glentrool. The rock came right through the tyre tread and punched a hole out of the inside of the alloy rim. It’ll take more than a dab of superglue to fix that.

Leading times after SS3 (of 4)
Thorburn, 31m 28s
Bogie, 31m 28s
Armstrong, 31m 40s
Faulkner, 32m 07s
MacDonald, 32m 30s
Collie, 33m 08s
Kerr, 33m 10s
McClory, 33m 57s
McCombie, 34m 12s
McMiken, 34m 30s
