Alan Cathers was released from Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary last night after his Stage 4 accident with Rory Young on the Scottish Rally. Rory was OK afterwards and Alan's hospital visit was purely precautionary, but the Lancer will require rather more serious surgery and recuperation!
Have just spoken to Peter Stewart on the phone and he seems very chipper although he is being transferred to Glasgow for another precautionary exploration and examination. However he was more jealous of his co-driver Phil (Shortt): "He's just had his lunch and is getting out!"
The duo went off on the final stage, the driver's side of the Subaru taking the brunt of the impact. Peter also has a broken wrist, but sounds remarkably cheerful - if a wee bit hungry!
And here's a nice touch, before he left last night, Alan popped in to see the boys before he went home.
