The event is also a counter in the Junior 1000 Rally Championship
series for 14 to 17 year olds in 1 litre cars. Introduced this year, this series for youngsters comprises a number of 'single-venue' type events which do not use the public highway, hence someone at the tender age of 14 can get a Competition Driver's Licence.
There’s a few girl drivers
amongst the young lads and quite a variety of cars, so if you have a youngster
who is keen to get started in rallying as opposed to karts or stockies, then
this is the way in.
And it’s not quite so ruinously expensive!
