Rally - GoRally Eve

Tomorrow evening, the great veil of darkness and universal ignorance will be lifted on the sport of Scottish rallying. For one night only it will be open season for all those who wish to know more about what it takes and what it will cost to get started in the sport.

You may also get some answers to those perennial questions - why and what's the appeal? It's not just about the speed, the spectacle and the thrill, or about driving, control and bravery, it's also about preparation, teamwork and timekeeping. Add to that  the noise, the smell and the touch. Is it any wonder that although you may leave rallying at some point in your life, it will never leave you.

This event is being organised by the Scottish Association of Car Clubs and their friends primarily to introduce the sport to newcomers and those who wish to find out more. Even if you don't get all the answers you want, you will leave the Pentland Land Rover facility more knowledgeable than you were before you arrived - and also more nourished, thanks to St Tunnock's of Biscuitry.

On hand will be rally stars and rally beginners to talk to, as well as rally organisers and rally marshals and car club representatives, plus a number of vehicles to peer at, inside and under, and if you're shy, the resident MC will conduct interviews for general entertainment and information.

So here's your chance to find out what it takes to get started. And if you miss out, then forever haud yer wheesht, youse huv hud yer chance!

If M&S made rally evenings, then GoRally would be the result.
