Rally - Heat protection

Over the years I've seen service crews get some nasty burns from hot turbos or exhausts when working frantically against the clock to repair ravaged rally cars. Most guys are sensible when working under the bonnet, but in the heat of the moment (is that too subtle?) often forget that cherry red is not necessarily a colour!

So this Press Release which crossed my desk this morning was of particular interest.This Kevlar and leather sleeve from Laser Tools has been designed to protect a mechanic's forearm from cuts when working with metal or glass, and will also help to protect them from burns too.

Retail price is around 15 quid and might just help protect hotheads from hot cars.
