There have been a couple of delays this morning during the Solway Coast Rally. One co-driver has been airlifted to Dumfries Gen Infirmary after taking ill in service. Nothing to do with the event, but as a precaution he has been taken in for tests. Family has been informed.
Then just when the rally was about to get under way again, a car went on fire in the fifth stage. No-one injured but rescue services had to attend.
A great pity but that's sport for you. Excellent venue and great stages. MOD catering excellent too. Beef curry and a cup of tea for 3 quid.
