David Hardie led the usedcarparts Solway Coast Rally by 8 seconds after two stages, but after 4 stages, Mark McCulloch is in the lead by 10!
This pair have opened up quite a gap on the pursuit already after 21 miles of stages with Jim Sharp over a minute behind the two Subarus in third place in his Evo9.
Fourth, and lucky to be there, is Ian Paterson. The Subaru hit a tree right smack on the nose on the second test this morning, but it was mostly panel damage and dented pride. His brother Stuart is in fifth place despite a driveshaft rattling around in the Subaru, and they're hoping to change that at service.
Top 2WD car at present is the MkII of Steve Retchless but Iain Wilson is well off, the Nova parked 15 feet down an embankment. Lee Hastings was nearly off at the same bit, but the Subaru now has s dinkled front o/s corner.
