Every manufacturer is keen to emphasise its green credentials these days and they all come up with their own version for the advertising slogans. Ford has ‘Econetic’ and Volkswagen has ‘Bluemotion’ so Honda has created its own, the new ‘Earth Dreams Technology’ label.
It’s first new engine using this technology will be a 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel with 126 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. More importantly it will generate just 95g/km of CO2. That means no Road Fund Licence!
Destined for use in the Honda Civic later this year, Honda hopes to set “a class-leading balance of fuel economy and performance”.
Also at the Geneva Show, Honda showed off its new CRV, with a much nicer front end than the current model.
