Rally - News Update

There's an interesting column in tomorrow's (Wednesday) 'Motorsport News' (but then I'm biased) ahead of this weekend's Thistle Hotel/Arnold Clark Snowman Rally,

At the moment there is very little snow on the rally route except on the high ground and the weather reports are favourable. On that basis, the six forest stages are expected to be very busy with spectators. The Snowman always gets a big turnout of fans and given the huge entry this year that will attract even more.

There's an event preview and full Entry list on the website at: www.jaggybunnet.co.uk

Unfortunately there is no Spectator info available. Highland Car Club have chosen to publish stage details ONLY in the event programme, so unless you've got crystal balls or some other insight, best try and get a Prog.

They will be available for sale at the following locations, but stocks are expected to disappear quickly:
Thistle Hotel, Millburn Road, Inverness
Arnold Clark Peugeot, Inverness, Elgin
Autosave, Inverness, Elgin
Bitz Garage, Mot Station, Nairn
Charlie's Cafe, Inverness
West End Garage & Filling Station, Drumnadrochit
Kingswells Filling Station, Culcabock, Inverness
Tarves Food Shop, Rogie

It's not an ideal situation but the club struggles to cope with the numbers each year and it is hoped that these restrictions will help to limit the numbers to more manageable proportions.

Also, on a personal note, the plan is to use this Blog to inform rally progress during the rally with top ten times and some info from the crews, as tried out on the Merrick, McRae, Mull and Galloping Hills last year - that's provided the electronic budgies can find a mobile phone signal up there in polar bear country!
