Last
week's 'Motorsport News' had a column which raised some scary fears about the
future of the sport because of the lack of volunteers. Here is the full
version.
Why should it matter? With all this emphasis on accreditation
and training, one suspects that it is only a matter of time before our sport's
governing body decrees that ONLY accredited and trained Marshals can be deployed
on Stage Rallies. In other words, we need more volunteers. If we don't keep attracting
newcomers to the sport, what's the answer? The End?
