Hyundai
Motor Co. has appointed Michel Nandan (ex Peugeot) as Team Principal for the
new Hyundai Motorsport GmbH operation which will be based in Alzenau, just
outside Frankfurt, where Hyundai’s European HQ is situated Germany.The company announced its intentions to enter the World Rally Championship at the Paris Motor Show in September last year and is now developing a WRC-spec Hyundai i20 to contest the full 2014 championship series.
Hyundai last competed in the WRC from 2000 to 2003 when Alister McRae and Kenneth Eriksson regularly drove for the team.
