Another cracking day at Ingliston this time for the
DCC Junior Stages with the 14-17 year olds belting around the 8 stages in their
1 litre 'power monsters'. Ewan Tindall in his Citroen C1 claimed victory by 15
seconds from Finlay Retson driving a borrowed Nissan Micra.
At the halfway point, Jude MacDonald in his Skoda Citigo was tied with
Tindall for the lead, but he slipped back during the afternoon when he felt
unwell and didn't complete the final two stages. There was nothing seriously
wrong with Jude, but the on-event Doc dropped by for a chat just to be sure.
Retson was only 2 seconds behind the tying twosome at the mid-way point,
but as the weather warmed up, the Micra's tyres started to go off big time,
although that didn't stop Retson leaning on them pretty hard. Johnnie MacKay
was delighted with third place in his Suzuki Alto, his first podium finish.
Leaderboard:
1, Ewan Tindall, 42m 22s
2, Finlay Retson, 42m 37s
