Spadeadam Motor Club are running their Blue Streak Targa
Rally on Sunday 16th August with a start and finish in Brampton,
which is just a stone’s throw from the Scottish border. It starts at 10.00 am
and the 70 mile route will incorporate 14 tests. Ideal for beginners, couples who
are on speaking terms, and auld farts whose forest outings are behind them. The
cars look good too with a Triumph Stag entered, a Porsche 911, some Minis and
Imps and a Vauxhall Viva HB amongst others. There are some weel kent names from
this side of the border too with Harold Tweedie and Roland Proudlock pairing up
in an MG, John and Marion Sloan in an MG Midegt and erstwhile co-driver Steven
Brown is giving his Peugeot 205 an airing with young Keith Fair helping to get
him lost. Sounds like good fun.
