The MSA is
to publish a new ‘interim’ rally safety guide in mid April. The guide will be
sent to all rally organisers but may have a wider distribution. This is not
intended to be the final, definitive manual for all rally organisers, but must
be considered ‘work in progress’ as ongoing issues will be addressed and further
clarified as the season progresses.
In the
meantime it will define the role and authority of Safety Delegates and Safety
Observers and establish some guidelines on ‘best practice’.
We’ll
know more after this weekend. This will be the new Safety Delegate’s second
official outing in Scotland after the Snowman Rally. Fingers crossed, eh?
