Often regarded as a soft touch when it comes to
charitable causes, Jim McRae has volunteered to sell six rides in his Ford
Sierra Cosworth to the six highest bidders.
Bids close on the 27th of April, at which point the winning bidders
will be notified when to gather at Knockhill Race Circuit at a mutually
agreeable time in June. At which point they will be invited to pull on a crash
hat, strap themselves into this iconic machine, and go for a high speed hurl
round the track and stage at Scotland's national motoring sporting centre.
Two years ago, Hamilton College in Lanarkshire sent a group of students
to Tanzania to work with the Vine Trust, helping to build houses and working in
orphanages. For their part each of the students have to pay their own way and
raise as much money as they can to purchase building supplies and educational
materials for children, and this is where Jim comes in. He has 'volunteered' to
help!
Bidders can pledge their bids on a specially created Facebook page
either publicly on site or privately (if you're shy) by Facebook personal
message. The winning bidders will then be messaged back and full details of
where and when can be emailed out after the closing date.
