This weekend, the population on the Isle of Mull will more than double. There isn't a bed to be had and folk are camping - under canvas - in October - in Scotland. Brave souls. At the moment the weather is good, but if Finland has the Rally of 1,000 Lakes, Scotland has the Rally of a 1,000 Puddles. And if Corsica has the Rally of 10,000 Corners, they ain't seen this place. This is the final weekend of the island tourist season and the boats are full carrying cars, vans, trailers, rally fans, families and followers. Motor sporting mayhem will descend tomorrow. Let the madness begin. And even if you don't like rallying, the Isle of Mull has a lot to offer.
