This is the new face of
Ford's Transit Custom, but I can't make up my mind if it's an improvement over
the original launched 4 years back, or am I just resistant to change. However,
it's still a lot better looking than the current big rascal.
It's such a pity but we're losing the
individual flair that designers previously expressed in their unique British
and European cultural approach to automotive conception as more and more
manufacturers strive to achieve a 'corporate' face across all their vehicles
from passenger cars to light commercials.
Remember the good old days? When
travelling across Europe you could tell which country you were in just by
looking at their cars, now we're all driving the same bluidy thing. Whatever happened
to 'variety is the spice of life'?
On the other hand, when you think back
to Allegros, Marinas and the Scorpio, maybe this is a good thing. Just a
thought.
I'll think about it some more on the way to Mach 1 tomorrow.
