Charlie Sayer-Payne left her car overnight in
the service park behind the market ahead of Saturday’s Pirelli Rally at Carlisle.
When she returned in the morning she found that some inconsiderate birds had
decorated the gleaming paintwork of her pride and joy with assorted colourings,
mixtures and textures of poo. Fortunately, Gavin and Barry from the John
Morrison motorsport entourage came to her rescue. They provided buckets, water,
shampoo and a sponge – and then left Charlie to get on with it herself. And they say chivalry is dead, hopefully it’s
just resting. The scoundrels.
