for this weekend's 5th Mach1 Stages Rally which takes to the runways and perimeter
roads of the Machrihanish Air Base just outside Campbeltown in the ancient
Gaelic kingdom of Dál Riata. Last year's winner Shaun Sinclair heads the
entry list which also includes former winners Tom Morris and Alastair Inglis
plus a whole host of other potential winners and front runners.
And despite what you've heard, Campbeltown really isn't that far away.
It's only 140 miles from Glasgow or 193 from Inverness. And who needs motorways
with all that scenery? Neither will you need a SatNav, just head west till you
can't go any further without getting your feet wet and then head south.
Simples.
