Elfyn is a star! |
VW driver Sebastien Ogier has
taken the lead at the end of Day 2 of the Monte Carlo Rally. After a difficult start to
his event on the first day he managed to snatch the lead from Bryan Bouffier on
the third test of the day when Bouffier slid off in to a field. He was very,
very lucky. There are an awful lot of rocks and mountains in this part of the
world and damn few fields!
It’s been a
long day, even with just five stages. Times are still provisional due to the
late finish, but even after a very tricky and treacherous day, the boys are
still there, Kris Meeke is still well placed in fourth and Elfyn Evans is a
pretty sensational sixth.
Also still
fighting hard are Robert Barrable in the Tunnocks Fiesta R5. He’s holding 13th
place overall and has moved up to second in WRC2, over 6 minutes behind
the WRC2 leader, Ukrainian driver, Yurii Protasov in another Fiesta R5. Fellow
Irishman, Eamon Boland is going well too in his Subaru, in 15th
place.
