One can’t help but be impressed by the
levels of preparation that many Targa crews undertake prior to a rally. Take
Gavin Gray and Colin MacKay for instance. They arrived on the island with a
car. Then they looked (glanced?) at the Regs, had a look at other folks’ cars and
equipment and asked a few questions about Targa rules and requirements. At this
point, realisation was beginning to dawn on them so they set about acquiring
the essentials. Colin went to Brown’s of Tobermory and bought a watch – with extra
buttons on it! He was fair chuffed with his choice. They actually finished 21st
overall, no bad, eh?
